Zoë Roddis of ZHR Marketing Delivers Practical & Inspiring Marketing Presentation at BNSL This week’s 10-minute presentation at BNSL was delivered by [Zoë Roddis – ZHR Marketing](https://www.zhrmarketing.co.uk/?utm_source=chatgpt.com), who gave the group an engaging and refreshingly practical insight into the world of marketing. Zoë’s presentation focused on simplifying marketing for business owners and helping people move from “marketing chaos to clarity, confidence and clients” — a message that clearly resonated with the room. ## Starting with the Fundamentals Zoë explained that before businesses jump into social media, advertising or promotional tactics, they first need to get the fundamentals right. She highlighted four key areas that every business should understand clearly: * Goals * Target Market * Offer * Price Zoë explained that when these foundations are in place, marketing becomes significantly easier, more effective and more successful. It was a simple but powerful reminder that good marketing starts with strategy and clarity, not just posting content online. ## From Chaos to Confidence The presentation also gave members an insight into the range of support Zoë offers through ZHR Marketing. Her services are designed to help businesses at different stages, from quick problem-solving sessions through to long-term strategic marketing mentoring. These included: * Marketing Membership programmes with weekly support and accountability * “Clarity Hour” strategy sessions * Intensive half-day workshops * Full marketing roadmaps * Long-term mentoring and strategic growth support Throughout the presentation, Zoë demonstrated a very approachable and down-to-earth style, making marketing feel accessible rather than overwhelming. ## A Personal & Memorable Introduction Zoë also shared some fun and personal insights into her life and personality, introducing members to her cats Shelby and Capone, alongside some family photos and humour that helped make the presentation feel warm and relatable. The room particularly enjoyed her comment about being “the ONLY Zoë Roddis on LinkedIn!” — a memorable line that certainly stuck with everyone in attendance. ## Practical Advice for Business Owners One of the strongest takeaways from Zoë’s presentation was the importance of consistency, accountability and having a clear plan. Many business owners know they “should” be marketing more, but often struggle with where to start or how to stay consistent. Zoë’s structured approach helps businesses simplify the process and focus on actions that genuinely move the business forward. Her presentation was informative, relatable and full of practical advice that members could immediately apply to their own businesses. ## Find Out More To learn more about Zoë Roddis and the services available through ZHR Marketing, visit: 👉 [ZHR Marketing](https://www.zhrmarketing.co.uk/?utm_source=chatgpt.com) Or contact Zoë directly: 📧 [zoe@zhrmarketing.co.uk](mailto:zoe@zhrmarketing.co.uk) 📞 07766 837 199 ## Visit BNSL At BNSL, our weekly member presentations help members learn more about each other’s businesses, strengthen relationships and generate quality referrals. Josh Makepeace of Everywhen (The Ardonagh Group) Delivers Insightful Presentation on Commercial Insurance & Underinsurance This week’s 10-minute presentation at BNSL was delivered by Josh Makepeace Cert CII, Commercial Insurance Account Executive at Everywhen – The Ardonagh Group. Josh gave the group an engaging and informative insight into the world of commercial insurance, sharing not only details about his role and the scale of the Everywhen and Ardonagh organisations, but also some important lessons around underinsurance and making sure businesses have the right protection in place. Getting to Know Josh Josh began by sharing a more personal introduction to himself and the things that matter most to him outside of work, including: Family Fitness Health His dachshund Trevor His ragdoll kitten He also spoke about his home life, his love of food, and his journey into the insurance industry. Josh explained that he started working in insurance at just 17 years old, qualifying early and progressing through a variety of roles before becoming an Account Executive. He also highlighted his professional qualification through the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), demonstrating his commitment to professionalism and continued development within the industry. Understanding Everywhen & The Ardonagh Group Josh then introduced the group to the scale and reach of the wider organisation behind Everywhen. As part of The Ardonagh Group, Everywhen sits within a global insurance business with: 12,000+ staff 200+ locations Operations across 30+ countries Josh explained how the size and strength of the group benefits clients through: Better market access Strong insurer relationships Improved outcomes for customers He also highlighted Everywhen’s growing UK presence, including: 4,500+ staff £4.8 billion in premium handled Over 100 UK locations 55 specialist schemes Advice-Led Commercial Insurance Throughout the presentation, Josh emphasised that good insurance is not simply about finding the cheapest quote. Instead, his approach focuses on: Ensuring clients have the right cover Providing advice-led solutions Helping businesses avoid costly gaps in protection Delivering competitive pricing with appropriate cover levels Josh explained that he works with a wide variety of clients, including: Business owners Growing SMEs Property owners Professional firms Clients unhappy with their current insurance arrangements As Josh summed up himself — “Basically, almost anyone who needs some kind of commercial insurance.” The Hidden Risk of Underinsurance One of the most valuable sections of the presentation focused on the growing issue of underinsurance. Josh explained how many commercial and residential properties are currently insured for incorrect rebuild values, leaving owners exposed if they ever need to make a claim. The group learned about: RCAL (Reinstatement Cost Assessments) Correct rebuild valuations The dangers of “Average Clause” The importance of regularly reviewing insurance cover Josh shared a particularly eye-opening real-world example showing how a property insured for £500,000 with an actual rebuild value of £1 million could result in a £100,000 claim only paying out £50,000 due to underinsurance penalties. It was a powerful demonstration of why simply renewing insurance year after year without reviewing sums insured can become a serious financial risk. A Well-Delivered & Informative Presentation Josh delivered his presentation with confidence, humour and professionalism, mixing technical insurance knowledge with relatable examples and practical advice. The slides and examples helped make what can often feel like a complicated topic both engaging and easy to understand for the room. Commercial insurance is something many business owners only think about when renewal time comes around — but Josh’s presentation was a strong reminder of how important it is to ensure cover is correct before a problem arises.
